What to expect on your 1st Visit to GPC
EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN OUR CLINIC WORKS AS PART OF A TEAM
From our friendly reception team; who will gather some information from you prior to your first appointment, help you to rebook your subsequent appointments and help guide you through our services and products, to our professional therapy team; who will assess and treat you as they help to guide you along the road to recovery, you will be treated with care and compassion by our team of health profesionals and support staff.
A CLEAN, PROFESSIONAL AND SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Our clinic has been purpose built to optimise the delivery of treatment to our physiotherapy specific client groups. We have a comfortable waiting area, 5 individual treatment rooms, an onsite gym, ramped access at the rear via Cartwright Place, amenities and plenty of up to date magazines! (Not that you will have much time to read them as our therapists very rarely run late on scheduled appointment times).
ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT PROVIDED TO YOU BY UNIVERSITY QUALIFIED AND NATIONALLY REGISTERED THERAPISTS
All of our Physiotherpists are university qualified health care professionals. They complete either a 3, 4 or 5 year degree as part of their tertiary education and studies, thus meeting the high standards required by the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency to practice Physiotherapy in Australia.
Our therapists are also recognised workcover health care providers in NSW and they are members of our professional body; the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
TREATMENT THAT IS EVIDENCE BASED, UP TO DATE, SAFE AND EFFECTIVE
Physiotherapists deliver treatment that is evidence based, that is; treatment that has been tested, proven effective and accepted by our national professional body. Some examples of the types of treatment techniques which you may receive, after assessment and discussion with your therapist are:
- Soft tissue massage
- Joint Mobilisation
- Ultrasound and TENS
- Dry Needling
- Hot / Cold therapy
- Stretching / Strengthening program
- Exercise prescription
Our Physiotherapists undertake regular professional development in the forms of courses, lectures, webinars, conferences and literature reviews to enable them to keep abreast of developments physiotherapy related research, treatments and equipment; thus enabling them to be able to provide you with up to date, effective and safe.
